The short answer is yes. The ingredients that we use in our products, such as jojoba and argan oil, regulate your skin’s natural oil production as they’re similar to the sebum oil that your skin naturally produces. In essence, your skin recognizes these oils. This is also why we say that all of our products are suitable for all skin types.

Skin cells take an average 4-6 weeks to completely turn over, depending on your age, genes and lifestyle. Therefore, it may take a minimum of 4-6 weeks for you to notice a visible change.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural compound that is found in your cells. HA is concentrated in the lower layer of skin, and the upper layer of healthy skin has very low levels of it. While it has plumping and wound healing properties, adding HA onto your skin topically through your skincare doesn’t mean it will function this way. This is because HA is a very big molecule that will not be able to cross the skin barrier and get absorbed into your skin. Moreover, there is no scientific evidence showing that lab made HA (found in skincare products) can act as a very effective moisture-retaining agent or that it’s as capable as the HA inside our bodies in absorbing water. All in all, while the HA inside your body will absorb up to 1000x its weight in water if you drink water, the lab made HA may not be able to do the same when its used topically. As well, HA, topically applied via skincare products, may absorb water from the top layer of your skin if you live in dry environment, causing even more dryness. Further, there is evidence showing that lab made HA with lower molecular weight can actually potentiate inflammation, causing redness and damage in the long-term for the skin. Water is the sustainer of all life on our planet – from small little bacteria and viruses all the way up to us humans and large mammals. While that’s amazing and it’s the reason we are able to live on Earth, it is also the perfect environment for harmful bacteria to grow. So, to make sure that water-based products stay clean for a long time, we would have to use preservatives. Since we wanted to avoid the use of preservatives, we opted to create effective oil-based products, as oil does not sustain life and therefore is, in and of itself, a great preservative.

Because essential oils are potent naturally, we recommend NOT using the products on children under the age of 12. Also, always do a patch test of the product on a small part of your skin, no matter how old you are, before your first use.
